Writing about myself is difficult. I’ve used AI for it, and that doesn’t work. I’m from the last birth years of Generation X, or a Xennial, I’m told. My childhood was analogue, and I’m comfortable with technology. Working with my hands is where a connection to Art began and remains. Ideas are always coming forward. Creation for me starts when I focus on one or overlapping ideas, telling human stories about material fascination. I think about science explaining how reality functions, and religion or philosophy arising to answer our questions of meaning. Now, we build our own narratives and create our own gods to surveil us. Artists interpret and transcribe from the conscious and subconscious with emotion.

I grew up in the late 90’s painting graffiti with my skateboarding friends in Jacksonville, Florida. It’s a consumer central city, surrounded by nature, and if art doesn’t fit into the goal of tourism or commercial appeal, it will be found in the small pockets of counter culture that were once hidden. I think the people who feel they don’t fit in here are true products of growing up in Duval. Artschool taught me to deliver perfect work for a grade, and being an artist is learning that the score is internal. Commissions exist in the middle. Working as a professional is a skill set, but creativity is the real requirement. So, I value that. Thanks for reading.
